Rolfe Horn - Special Edition Prints

Rolfe Horn has just released two special edition prints - Creek, Study 3, Izumo, Japan 2004 and Volleyball Court, Study 3, Santa Monica, California 2001.

The image size for Creek, Study 3 is 7 1/2" x 7 3/4". Volleyball Court, Study 3 measures 7 3/4" x 7 3/4". Both are overmatted to 16"x20" with archival 4-ply board. Prints are signed and numbered by the artist. Each print is limited to an edition of 25 prints.

Agelio Batle’s Graphite Object, asparagus, is featured in this month’s issue of Elle Décor UK. The article features designer, Thorten van Elten with mention of the asparagus and other graphite objects.

Batle’s graphite objects are limited series. There is also a small peapod that has become very popular.

And The Winner Is...

Congratulations to Peter Hess, the winner of our first ever drawing contest. Peter sketched a wonderful landscape using the Twisted Leaf Agelio Batle Graphite Object to create his drawing. His bold yet detailed drawing expressed the entire surface of the pencil and what is has to offer on a 5x7 inch piece of white paper.

New Rolfe Horn Photographs

Sometimes photography trips take an unexpected turn. Last year Rolfe Horn headed for the Olympic National Park in Washington State. As he approached the Oregon border the weather further north was forecasted for 70 degrees and cloudless skies so Horn changed his destination.

Instead, he headed for the Oregon coast where atmospheric conditions are usually a certainty. It is here that Horn spent a few days turning his camera to the sights he enjoys photographing. These newly released images embody Horn's trademark ethereal look and rich tonality. His quality of light and exceptional darkroom printing are always a superb combination.

Jeanne Falk Adams (Ansel Adams' daughter-in-law) visited Studio 391 at photo l.a.

Studio 391 just returned from photo l.a. XX, the 20th International Photographic Art Exposition. Studio 391 was one of more than 50+ galleries invited to exhibit at the photographic exhibition.

For one weekend in January (usually the 3rd weekend) galleries and dealers from around the world converge in Santa Monica to showcase and sell fine art photographs from some of the most famous names in photography as well as emerging artists.

In addition to the exhibition, there were collecting seminars, lectures, book signings, and much more.
Jeanne Falk Adams (pictured above) was one of five panel members that was in attendance to discuss, Troubled Waters: History and Politics of Landscape Photography.

Photo l.a. is one of the longest running photography fairs west of New York City.

Eric Kent Wine Cellars will feature Rolfe Horn's photograph 'Schooner Gulch' on its latest vintage, a 2009 Small Town Pinot Noir from the Sonoma Coast appellation.

Christopher Burkett Price Increase

Christopher Burkett has announced that three of his prints - Translucent Forest, White Callas at Dawn, and Spruce & Bright Aspen Forest - will increase in price at the end of the year.

The 20"x20" and 20"x24" prints will increase from $1,000 to $1,500 and the 30"x30" and 30"x40" images will increase from $2,000 to $3,000. The new prices will take effect on January 1, 2011.
