New Photography Exhibition - Small Works

From the new exhibition Small Works

Small Works is a new photography exhibition featuring works by gallery artists Paul Kozal, Ryuijie, Unai San Martin and Ion Zupcu. Please join us for the exhibition opening and reception on Saturday, May 23 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Artist Paul Kozal will be present.

Small Works features photographs no larger than 8x10 inches in image size. These photographers continue to make their photographs with film cameras and make prints by hand in a traditional darkroom using archival methods and processes.

MALT Show & Sale Next Weekend


Three of Studio 391’s artists, Christin Coy, Richard Lindenberg and Wendy Schwartz are exhibiting at the 12th Annual “Ranches & Rolling Hills” Landscape Art Show & Sale next weekend, Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, 2009.

For one weekend only, artists from Marin County and Santa Barbara’s Oak Group transform the Druid’s Hall in Nicasio, CA into a showcase of fine landscape art inspired by the farms and ranches protected by Marin Agricultural Land Trust conservation easements.

Charles Waldman Painting Juried Into Gold Medal Exhibition

Old Mill Reflection by Charles Waldman was selected by the California Art Club into the 98th Annual Gold medal Juried Exhibition at the Pasadena Museum of Contemporary Art.

This annual exhibition spotlights new works from the nation's leading representational fine artists and celebrated California Impressionism, the artistic movement founded nearly a century ago.

The California Art Club, established in 1909 by early California Impressionists or plein air painters, is recognized as one of the oldest, largest and most active leading professional art organizations in the world.

April 2009 Print Special

Special Limited Edition Print by Paul Kozal
Studio 391 is offering The Cypress Grove, a special limited edition, 8"x10" toned gelatin silver print by Paul Kozal for $250. The cypress trees are unique to the California Coast and are a signature subject for the artist.

This special is for 8 remaining prints from an edition of 50 prints originally offered to the Texas Photographic Society Print Program.

Each print will be:
  • printed on 8"x10" paper overmatted to 14"x18"
  • hand-made in the darkroom using archival methods and processes
  • limited to an edition of 50
  • signed and numbered by the artist
  • ready for framing
Prints are available on a first come, first serve basis.

New Roman Loranc Photograph Sells Out In Record Time


Roman Loranc’s newest photograph, Carmel Valley After the Winter Storm, was officially released on February 14th and was completely sold out by February 15th. This negative is officially retired and is no longer being printed by the artist. Roman’s photographs continue to be widely collected and continue to sell out quickly upon release.
