A special exhibition of Kanchi, The Quiet Place by Studio 391 artist Ryuijie, in collaboration with Camille Lenore, is now on view at the Monterey Aquarium through May 2011.The two free divers and photographers came up with the intriguing idea of making platinum and palladium prints from underwater photographs. Kanchi, The Quiet Place, celebrates the life forms and quality of light that exists only underwater.
Ryuijie’s works have appeared in View Camera, Photovision, Camera and Darkroom, Black & White and LensWork magazines. He has published three books: Photographs - Time and Place, Fragments of Time, and Ten Photographs.
His works can be found in private and public collections worldwide including the Getty in Los Angeles.
