Celebrating the Art of the Mushroom

Artist Paul Kozal explains his photographic process to an onlooker at the exhibition opening on Saturday, November 6th

Gualala, CA - Studio 391 celebrated the art of the mushroom with Boletus Edulis, a new photography exhibit featuring images of Caliofornia King Boletus mushrooms by Paul Kozal.

These images were created with a cameraless, filmless technique and then infused onto a sheer aluminum surface allowing the images to take on almost magical luminescence.

This special exhibition is part of Mendocino County's Annual Wine & Mushroom Festival. This year the festival runs from Friday, November 5th through Monday, November 15th. Highlights of the festival include mushroom dinners, wine-and-beer pairing workshops, mushroom exhibits, guided mushroom foraging walks and much more.

Rated "One of the Top Six Food Fests in the Nation" by Oprah.com, it's a fun event and if you like mushrooms there's no better place to be than in Mendocino County.

Studio 391 served up a selection of Mendocino County wines along with mushroom appetizers including Savory Mushroom Bread Pudding Bites, Warm Brie with Sauteed Cremini Mushrooms and Porcini Honey Ice Cream.

Boletus Edulis is on exhibit November 6th through November 29th.
